Psychiatry

Stress, anxiety, nervousness, sadness, sleep disorders, excessive consumption of alcohol or drugs, and eating disorders are conditions which, if they persist, are often linked to psychiatric disorders.

Our approach

Stress, anxiety, nervousness, sadness, sleep disorders, excessive consumption of alcohol or drugs, and eating disorders are conditions which, if they persist, are often linked to psychiatric disorders. Bearing in mind that the latter can greatly reduce life expectancy and encourage the onset of somatic diseases, it is essential to seek help if you have one or more of these symptoms. Our specialist doctor will listen to you closely. Our psychiatrist also works in close collaboration with the Clinic’s different services, in particular the Sleep Centre and the Nutrition Centre.

Conditions and treatments

The role of the psychiatrist is to establish a diagnosis, assess the degree of seriousness of a condition, if any, and propose a suitable treatment. Conditions may be of several types:

  • depression
  • eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia)
  • addictions
  • phobias and anxiety

The treatment requires close supervision from a medical and/or psychotherapeutic perspective.

Did you know?

Mental disorders are among the most frequently encountered illnesses after cardiovascular disease. In the course of their lives, one person in four will develop a psychiatric disorder of some kind. Only 50% of those suffering from depression are diagnosed by general practitioners. The other 50% remain under the radar, unaware that they are suffering from the condition.
